My name is Christopher Said, a graduating web development student with a background in graphic design, photography, and programming. During my time in the program, I’ve gained valuable experience applying what I’ve learned through both academic and real-world projects.
For over a year, I’ve worked as a student tutor in web development and Java programming at the DMACC Academic Achievement Center, helping students grasp complex topics through personalized instruction. Alongside tutoring, I’ve freelanced on several projects, including a website update and server/domain transfer for KWhite Engineering, and a full redesign of author Dennis Maulsby’s site, where I’m implementing WordPress-based e-commerce functionality.
I also volunteer as webmaster for Lake Country Cyclists, maintaining their site, managing hosting, editing content, and adding features as needed—an experience that’s enhanced my communication and project coordination skills.
My capstone internship has been the highlight of my journey—developing the 2025 ICCADI and DMACC Portfolio Day websites. For ICCADI, I built the site from the ground up, integrating entry, judging, and results workflows into a centralized system. For Portfolio Day, I collaborated with the department chair to update the site using a student designer’s work.
I’m thankful for the students and professors I’ve met at DMACC. Moving forward, I plan to complete my bachelor’s in Biblical Studies at Faith Baptist Bible College, with the goal of using my web development and design skills in Christian ministry or nonprofit work.
